Items from the service of band leader/conductor Frank Joseph Rosato, who was born in the Irish Channel neighborhood of New Orleans to Italian immigrant parents. Rosato attended Tulane University to study engineering, and graduated in 1937. He served as a Chief Warrant Officer and was the leader of the band of the 156th Infantry Regiment, which was part of the Louisiana National Guard and was mustered into federal service on November 25, 1940. Rosato served in the European Theater and was asked to perform at the Potsdam Conference in Potsdam, Germany in July of 1945. Collection includes about 50 photographs related to Rosato's service.
