An American soldier reads a German letter. Official caption: "ETO HQ 44 6556 Murray (5) 3 July. Credit---Signal Corps Photo. Lt. [Johnathan] Hubb, of an engineer co., reads a letter found on a body of a dead German, killed on the 'doorstep' of his foxhole near Villers [sic] Fossard, France." Censored on 4 July 1944; passed for publication without censorship restrictions on 14 May 1945.
