Bohannan, of the 71st Division Artillery, standing next to the torn left wing of his L-4 [Piper Cub] after a crash landing in the woods one-half mile from the 71st Division Artillery landing strip, Fort Benning, Georgia. The plane crashed due to motor failure from an altitude of 100 feet. The branches of the tree halted the fall of the plane two feet from the ground. 168-L-44-1358.'
