Items from the service of Carl A. Greise, who was born in Zwickau, Germany on August 31, 1920. He immigrated to the United States as a young man and was drafted into the Army on January 4, 1943. He served with Company L, 26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, First Army. Greise was KIA near Aachen on October 8, 1944. Collection includes about 25 photographs and a few documentary artifacts related to Griese's service.
