Coggins, Poteau, Okla., convinced German major that escape from Allied troops was impossible. German major then freed Lt. Coggins to arrange terms of surrender with his superiors. Tully served with the Signal Corps in Italy and North Africa documenting the 5th Army specifically. Later he was Commander of Camp Crowder, Missouri.
