Ernest Grumbacker, 715 W. 170th St., NYC, acting as interrogator, speaks to one of the 82 Germans who surrendered fort near Mutzig. Pfc. Grunbacker was about to parley with Germans and ask them to surrender, but before he could open negotiations the Germans raised a white flag. (C). 2nd Bn., 30th Inf.
