Interior shot of a living room and its furniture, Greenbelt, Maryland, May 1945

Description:

Photograph. Interior shot of a living room and furniture in Greenbelt, Maryland. Official Caption: "Rome, 5/25/45--Greenbelt: Typical planned community in the U.S.--A living room of a home in the planned community at Greenbelt has casement windows which provide a maximum of light and air. Instead of facing a barren street, all the homes look out upon grass and trees. There are two other communities like Greenbelt in the U.S.--one in the northwestern state of Wisconsin and the other in the Midwestern state of Ohio. In developing these projects, it was felt that they would have a far-reaching influence on American home building for years to come. –FFG Photo—Serviced by Rome OWI (A List Out). Approved by appropriate military authority. 6392-13." Greenbelt, Maryland. 25 May 1945
