Father Preston “Peppie” Joseph Marquette was born to Clifton and Susie Marquette on 19 October 1913 in Napoleonville, Louisiana. He grew up in Theriot, Louisiana and he served as a Catholic priest at Immaculate Conception Church in Marrero, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana. Father Marquette served as a chaplain in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the 5th Air Force. In the 1950s Chaplain Marquette was attached to the 45th Infantry in Korea. He died in Louisiana in June 1985.
