1855. '3-22-44. Freeney. A Sig Corps pigeon is placed into a cage with 5 other pigeons. These cages were dropped by a 9 foot parachute from an L5 plane to troops of the 71st Division operating on maneuvers at H L M R. This method is employed to supply troops operating in difficult terrain. Both the 71st and 89th Divisions as supplied by the 1st Combat Section, 1st Platoon, 263rd Sig Pigeon Company. HLMR Mtn.
