A soldier digs out a hole in preparation for a telephone cable. Note that the location has been stricken in the caption. Official caption: "ETO HQ 44 28526 5 Dec. Credit...US Army Signal Corps. Photog-Pvt. G. LaMond 167. Pvt. Myron Suagosa, Patterson, N.J., a Ninth Army signal man, cleans out a furrow near Englesdorf [sic], Germany. A German plow was used to make the furrow, in which a telephone cable from the unit command post to the town will be laid. (D). 29th Sig. Bn., 29th Div., 9th US Army. Confidential." Passed for publication as censored on 8 December 1944; passed for publication without censorship restrictions by SHAEF Field Press Censor on 12 April 1945.
